UPDATED: Sports Calendar: April 7

It's a busy day on the sports calendar. As of now, most of the area sporting events are still on. However, with the forecast calling for a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, that could possibly change plans for the area schools. We'll post updates here if there are any postponements.

There are two big track meets in the area for Tuesday. The big one for the girls will take place in Clarinda at the Lady Cardinal Relays. Red Oak, Griswold, East Mills, Essex, Southwest Valley and Stanton are all scheduled to compete. The meet starts at 4:30 p.m.

In boys track, the Red Oak team travels to Glenwood to compete in the Ram Relays. That meet features mostly Hawkeye 10 schools, a well as a couple Council Bluffs schools. The meet start at 5 p.m. at the Glenwood High School track.

In golf action, the East Mills Wolverines will be home as they host Glenwood. The meet starts at 4 p.m. UPDATE: The golf meet in Malvern has been postponed.

Both Southwest Valley golf teams will be home Tuesday as they host East Union. The boys are still looking for their first win after a close loss Monday to CAM. The girls, meanwhile, will try to make it two in a row. The meet starts at 4 p.m. at the Happy Hollow Country Club.
