Griswold-CAM places six on All-Corner first teams

Griswold-CAM placed a total of six players on the All-Corner Conference softball and baseball first teams released last week.
The Tigers’ Brayden Lockwood and Kolby Klindt were named on the baseball first team while Courtney Follman, Ailey Wahlert, Keeley Kinney and Brystol Wyman earned first team, softball nods from the coaches.
Lockwood, named as a utility player, and Klindt, an infielder, were joined on the first team by Stanton’s Nolan Case, Sidney/East Mills’ Cooper Hagen, Bedford’s Quentin Dalton and Ashton Nally, Fremont-Mills’ Rowen Howe, Evan Laumann and Sam Sanchez and Essex’s Landrey King.
Lockwood, a first team utility player, led Griswold in hitting (.324) while going 1-6 on the mound with 35 strikeouts in 32 and 1/3 innings pitched. Klindt hit .333 with a team-best 15 runs driven in.
Hagen, the East Mills senior who was a part of the co-op team with Sidney this season, split time between catching and pitching while hitting a conference best .556 with 12 runs driven in while making seven starts on the mound and going 2-4 with 30 strikeouts.
King, who played all over the field for Essex, was the lone eighth grader named to the first team.
Griswold’s Nollan Smith and Calden Turner were second team selections along with Stanton’s Owen Marsh and Cooper Dreyer, Sidney/East Mills’ Gabe Blanton and Essex’s Will Roberts.
On the softball first team, the Tigers’ Follmann, Wahlert, Kinney and Wyman earned first team honors along with Fremont-Mills’ Saige Mitchell, Lindze Smith, Adelynn Billingsley, Kinley Blackburn, Reese Gute and Lana Alley and Bedford’s Charlotte Shafar and Aniya Hardee.
Follman topped the Tigers with a .407 batting average and 29 RBIs. Wahlert led the team with three home runs while driving in 25 runs and hitting .397.
Kinney hit .365 with 17 runs driven in while Wyman hit .325.
Griswold-CAM’s Amanda Houser and Carsyn Adams earned second team nods along with Stanton’s Quinn McDonald.
