Viqueens edge Griswold in Corner volleyball

Stanton lost the opening set and battled back to win a five-set thriller over Griswold 24-26, 25-11, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10 in Corner Conference volleyball last Tuesday.
The Viqueens didn’t have the most efficient night hitting – .015 percent – but did record 42 kills in the win.
“We showed resilience and determination throughout the match, answering every challenge from Griswold,” said Stanton coach John Mainquist. “The Viqueens continued to fight point-by-point and finished strong in the deciding fifth set to secure the win. It was a great team effort that showcased Stanton’s competitiveness, communication, and never-give-up mentality.”
Cooper Stephens led the way with 18 kills. Addy Gettler and Piper French each added six kills each.
Haylee Joint keyed the offense with 32 set assists and Addie Peterson paced the defense with 17 digs.
