Tigers’ O’Neal earns first team Hawk-10 honors

Red Oak’s Jocelyn O’Neal was named to the All-Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball team released last week.
In a league-wide vote of coaches, O’Neal was tabbed for the first team. The Red Oak junior earned first team honors along with Shenandoah’s Ashlynn Hodges, Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s Maddie Roenfeld and Brooke Larsen, Clarinda’s Addison Wagoner and Jerzee Knights, Glenwood’s Alli Koontz and Charley Hernandez, and Kuemper Catholic’s Brianna Wittrock and Kaylie Simons.
Hodges, Roenfeld and Larsen all were unanimous first team selections.
O’Neal earned her first team nod after leading the Tigers with 355 kills this season.
Red Oak’s Nicole Bond was tabbed for the second team while Keely Jones earned an honorable mention selection. Bond, a senior, led the team with 389 digs and Jones had 243 kills.
