Stanton, EM, Essex, Griswold athletes named to All-Corner Conference teams
Stanton and East Mills were well represented on the All-Corner Conference Girls and Boys Basketball teams released last week.
Stanton’s Hannah Olson, Lauren Johnson and Riley Burke were first team selections after leading the Viqueens to the conference championship while Evan Gettler was tabbed for the boys first team.
East Mills had three total first team selections with Caitlyn Crouse and Ava Grindle named to the girls first team and Jackson Embree was a first team boys choice.
Olson and Johnson were unanimous first team selections by all league coaches on the girls squad. They were joined by Fremont-Mills’ Bella Gute as a unanimous choice.
Olson topped the conference in scoring at 15.8 points per game while adding 7.3 rebounds per game. Johnson was second in the league in scoring (15.6 points per game) and rebounding (10.0). Burke set a new school record while topping the conference in three pointers with 64 this season. She averaged 10.4 points per game.
Crouse led East Mills with 13 points per game while Grindle averaged 9.2 points and 9.1 rebounds.
Boys conference champion Bedford led the way with two first team selections in Cal Peterman and Brody Kind. Peterman and Sidney’s Braedon Godfread were unanimous selections.
Gettler topped the Vikings with 68 three-pointers this season while scoring a team-best 14.1 points per game.
Embree averaged 14.7 points per game and led the Wolverines in rebounding (8.4 per game) and steals (2.7).
Essex’s Isaiah Sholes was a first team choice after leading the conference in scoring (20.2 per game), rebounds (13.3) and blocked shots (5.2).
Griswold’s Amanda Houser was named to the girls second team. East Mills’ Mason Camden and Griswold’s Bode Wyman both earned second team nods.
