Red Oak VB Hawkeye-10 champions

Red Oak capped its regular season with the championship and a perfect 5-0 record at the Winterset Volleyball Invitational Saturday.
The Class 3A, No. 4 ranked Tigers (35-2 overall, 10-0 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference) grabbed wins over Van Meter 21-18, 21-19, the home Huskies 21-12, 21-19, Norwalk 21-15, 13-21, 18-16, Greene County 21-17, 21-16 and Webster City 21-12, 21-10.
Jocelyn O’Neal led the Tigers’ attack at the net with 42 kills on the day. The senior added 38 digs and five aces.
Keely Jones chipped in 34 kills and Karly Jenkins 25.
Emily Sebeniecher led the Red Oak offense, dishing up 97 set assists to go with 25 digs.
Mariel Ramirez led the defense with 41 digs.
The Tigers faced Clarke (9-17) in last night’s Class 3A, Region 4 quarterfinal. Those results will appear in next week’s paper.

Red Oak picked up its 30th win of the season and wrapped up the Hawkeye 10 Conference championship with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-12 win on the road at Denison Monday.
The Tigers (30-2 overall, 10-0 in the conference) hit a blistering .355 as team and put down 43 kills in the victory.
Jocelyn O’Neal led the way with 16 kills. Keely Jones added 12 kills and Karly Jenkins seven.
Emily Sebeniecher paced the offense with 36 set assists.
Avery Bock led Denison with seven kills.
