ACCIDENTS

  • On April 13, at about 4:52 p.m., Red Oak Police officers were called to an accident on 8th Street. Reagan Nissen-Eubank, 39, Red Oak, driving a 2004 Toyota 4Runner, backed out of a driveway and struck a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by Kerald Yearns, 77, Windsor Heights. Damage to Nissen-Eubank’s vehicle was estimated at $800, and Yearns’ vehicle had about $3,500 damage. No citations were issued.
  • On April 14, at 10:36 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated an accident in the 1700 block of N. Highland Ave. Sandra Olson, 75, Red Oak, backed out of her driveway and turned to the north, striking an illegally parked 1999 Dodge Ram pick-up which was parked on the wrong side of the street. There was no damage to the pick-up and Olson’s vehicle had about $2,000 damage. No citations were issued.
  • On April 18, 2015, at about 6:59 a.m. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident seven miles southeast of Red Oak on 270th Street. Jackie Kendrick 63, New Market, driving a 2001 Chevy Equinox, was traveling west on 270th Street when he fell asleep and crossed the center line. When he woke, he overcorrected, entered the ditch and struck a field driveway. Damage to Kendrick’s vehicle is estimated at $13,000, a total loss. Kendrick was transported to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by Red Oak Rescue.
