WPAC’s Annie nominated for several ICTA awards
The Wilson Performing Arts Center has been nominated as a 2018 Awards of Excellence Finalist. Winners will be announced at the Iowa Community Theatre Association Gala March 30 in Newton.
John Olson was nominated for Direction of a Musical for the WPAC performance of Annie; lead orphans in Annie were also nominated for Ensemble in a Musical; Sarah Crockett, Jessie Jacobsen and Misty Wissel as the Doo-Wop Girls in Little Shop of Horrors; Jedd Sherman and Ron Hines as Supporting Actor in a Musical for Annie; Jill Gandy and Tracy Rhodes as Supporting Actress in a Musical for Annie; Joy Tunnicliff for Choreography in Annie; Tim Marsden for Musical Direction in Annie; Kelen Panec for Costuming in Annie; Carol Wisner, Shari Buehler and John Olson for Scenic Design in Annie; and Carol Wisner and Bryan Wilson for Technical, Lighting & Sound Design for Annie.
The Southwest Iowa Theatre Group in Shenandoah was nominated for Ensemble in a Musical for Little Women the Musical, comprising of Sarah Crockett, Megan Beery and Julie Murren. SWITG’s Misty Wissel was nominated for Lead Actrress in a Musical for Little Women the Musical and Pam Lewis was nominated for Little Women the Musical for Musical Direction.
The Mills Masquers of Glenwood were nominated for Direction in a Play for Inherit the Wind, with Nancy Wright as the nominee.
Any theatre that is a member of the Iowa Community Theatre Association may request their show be reviewed for consideration of awards of excellence in any or all of the 11 categories.
Annie took the WPAC stage June 13-17, 2018, with a cast of XX. Little Shop of Horrors ran from Oct. 25-28, 2018.
