UPDATE: Sports Calendar: May 28

3:12 p.m. update: Tonight's JV and varsity games for Red Oak baseball and softball at Atlantic have been postponed. No make-up date has been announced.

With spring mostly out of the way, the summer sports season begins.

As of now, these games are still on. However that could change, given the forecast. Here's a look at some of the games that are scheduled for Thursday.

The Red Oak softball and baseball teams are on the road Thursday evening as they take on Atlantic. The softball game will be a varsity doubleheader, while baseball will be a JV/varsity doubleheader. The action starts at 5:30 p.m.

In Corner Conference action, East Mills goes on the road for a softball/baseball doubleheader. The softball team will be at the high school against Fremont-Mills as the game starts at 5:30 p.m. The baseball team will be at City Park in Tabor as they square off at 7:30 p.m. (JV starts first at 5:30 p.m.)

The Essex baseball team will be home for a JV/varsity doubleheader against Clarinda Academy. JV plays first at 4:30 p.m., with the varsity game to follow.

Griswold will be in action as they play games at different locations. The baseball go on the road to play Bedford with a start time of 6 p.m. The softball team goes on the road to face Tri-Center. The freshmen play first at 5 p.m., with the varsity games to follow.

Finally, the Southwest Valley softball team hits the road as they go to Treynor to take on the Cardinals. The JV team plays first at 6 p.m., with varsity to follow.
