Trojans football to play Seymour in home opener
ESSEX — The Essex Trojans football team will open up the 2011 season at home against Seymour on Aug. 26.
Essex lost to Seymour, last season, 34-22.
The Trojans will play their next two games on the road.
On Sept. 2, they play East Union and a week later, they face Villisca.
Essex’s remaining home games will be against Fremont-Mills (Sept. 16), Sidney (Sept. 30) and East Mills (Oct. 14).
Road games remaining for Essex include Stanton (Sept. 23), South Page (Oct. 7) and Nishnabotna (Oct. 21).
Essex will once again be playing in District 8 of Eight-Man football.
The Trojans finished the 2010 season with a 1-8 record. Their lone win came Oct. 8 when they defeated South Page, 32-12.
