Subbert, Sorensen, Bazer lead all-conference

The Stanton and Villisca volleyball teams are well represented on the Corner Conference all-conference volleyball team, which was released last Monday.

Stanton’s Carmen Subbert and Rachel Sorensen, as well as East Mills’ Amanda Bazer were unanimous first team selections leading the way. Jill Vanderhoof and Amanda Focht of Villisca were also selected to first team all-conference.

Both Subbert and Sorensen were unanimous first team nods last season.

Subbert led the conference in kills with 329, while Sorensen was fourth in the conference with 251.  

Bazer, who was a first team selection last season, finished sixth in the conference in kills with 224.

Focht and Vanderhoof were tied for second in the conference in kills, each recording 254.

The other Stanton player to receive first team honors was senior Ragen Anderson.

Stanton, Villisca and East Mills each had one player make second team, while Essex/South Page had two.
Roey Sink of Stanton, Bree Ann Fisher of Villisca, Devin Laughlin of East Mills, Haley Fundermann and Tessie Lindburg of Essex/South Page were the key second team players.

Three Essex/South Page players, as well as a Stanton and Villisca player were honorable mentions on the team.
Seana Perkins, Cheyana Brownfield and Andrea Allen were honorable mentions for Essex/South Page.  

Kara Allen of Stanton and Morganne Haer of Villisca were also honorable mentions.
