Subbert, Laughlin among all-conference selections
Two Stanton, one East Mills and one Essex player was among those chosen for the Corner Conference all-conference team for girls basketball, released last week.
Stanton’s Carmen Subbert and East Mills’ Devin Laughlin were both unanimous selections. Stanton’s Sara Sederburg and Essex’s Seana Perkins were both picked for first team as well.
The other first team players on the all-conference team include Heartland Christian’s Steffi and Molly Cunard, as well as Fremont-Mills’ Macy and Taryn Williams. Both the Cunards and the Williams’ were unanimous selections.
East Mills had one player selected to the second team as Joni Laughlin was picked.
The other second team players were Nishnabotna’s Ciarra Voyles and Anne-Marie Maher, South Page’s Cheyana Brownfield and Kysa McClarnon, Sidney’s Ruth Ellen Gregory and Lexy Larsen and Fremont-Mills’ Andrea McClary.
Macy Elwood of Stanton and Samantha Opal of East Mills were both honorable mentions. Constance Brooks of Clarinda Academy and Mackenzie Hulsing of Sidney were also honorable mentions.
The first team appearance for Subbert is her fourth. It’s her third time as a unanimous selection. It’s the first first-team appearance for both Sederburg and Perkins. Laughlin is making her second appearance on the first-team list. She was previously on the first team during the 2011-12 season.
