Stanton Care Center receives award

STANTON — Stanton Care Center received the Vetter Health Services’ Quality Life award in a special ceremony Thursday, Nov. 20.

During an Open House marking 30 years in business, Glenn Van Ekeren spoke on behalf of Vetter as he presented the “Quality Life” award to Administrator Jalene Truesdell.

Vetter Health Services of Omaha owns the assisted-living facility, and 32 others.

Only two of Vetter’s facilities received the  award. 

Van Ekeren noted the interaction between staff and residents had been observed as part of the assessment for the award.

Surveys showed:

• Resident satisfaction was 99.33 percent. 

• Family satisfaction was 99.43 percent.

• Staff satisfaction was 97.53 percent. 

In response to the “dining is a pleasant experience” question, residents ranked their appreciation of tablecloths, cloth napkins, centerpieces and appealing food at 100 percent satisfaction. 

Beyond medical and nutritional care, employees Tammy Magneson and Donna Abraham see that residents have opportunities to participate in activities to meet their physical, spiritual, social, mental and emotional needs. 

Closed-circuit television also permits residents to “attend” Mamrelund Lutheran each week. 

Covenant Church provides a monthly Bible study at the facility and local pastors preach Sunday afternoons. 

Residents also participate monthly in Stanton fourth-grade’s “Adopt a Grandparent” program.
