Site selected for new CBOC near Shenandoah

Construction is expected to begin relatively soon on a new Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Shenandoah. The clinic, which serves veterans in southwest Iowa, northwest Missouri and southeast Nebraska, is expected to be complete sometime in late 2020 or early 2021.

The current site of the CBOC is in Orchard Corners in Shenandoah. The new site is at 2041 A Avenue outside of Shenandoah.

Lavastida Development LLC from Norman, Okla., has been selected to oversee the construction of the VA clinic.

Once completed, the new clinic will include more than 9,700 square feet that will include a variety of medical services including primary care, telehealth, tele-retinal, lab, hearing aid fitting, mental health and group therapy.

The new clinic will be roughly 6,400 square feet larger than the current Shenandoah clinic and will include advanced capabilities for telemedicine to mitigate the need for local veterans to travel for specialty care such as pre-op screening or dermatology.
