Here are some basketball results from Tuesday night.
Boys Basketball: Sidney 44, Stanton 42
Sidney's Brendon Hardy scored the game winning field goal on a lay-up off of a steal with seconds remaining in the game.
Jeff Marshall fouled out as the team's leading scorer, finishing with 13 points. Greg Focht and Brent Hanson each scored seven points.
The Vikings head into the holiday break with a 5-3 record.
Girls Basketball: Villisca 46, Fremont-Mills 41
The Villisca Blue Jays got back in the win column Tuesday night, with the win over Fremont-Mills.
Jill Vanderhoof and Amanda Focht both had double-doubles for the game. Focht had 12 points and 17 rebounds, while Vanderhoof had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Blue Jays are 8-1 this season and remain in first in the Corner Conference.
Girls Basketball: Stanton 55, Sidney 15
The Viqueens picked up their third straight blowout victory as they head into the break.
Ragen Anderson scored 14 points for the Viqueens as they scored 31 second half points.
Stanton is now 4-4 for the season. They will be back in action Jan. 6 at Fremont-Mills.
Boys Basketball: Fremont-Mills 65, Villisca 45
The Blue Jays win streak ended at two games. Max Mauderly was the team's leading scorer, finishing with 16 points.
The Blue Jays are now 4-5 heading into the break. We'll have much more on these games in next week's print edition of the Red Oak Express.
