Russell R. Lewis, 73

Russell R. Lewis, 73, of Norfolk, Neb. passed away Nov. 8, 2010, at the Stanton Health Center in Stanton, Neb.

Russell Raymond Lewis, the son of Harold O. and Vera E. (Hendrix) Lewis was born June 7, 1937 in Red Oak. Russell was raised in Red Oak and graduated with the Red Oak High School class of l954. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for a few years. Russell moved to Lincoln, Neb. in l961. He worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Lincoln from 1961 until his retirement in 1992. Following his retirement he moved to De Quincy, La., living there for 15 years. In 2006, Russell returned to Red Oak. Russell was united in marriage to Neta S. Harold Carlson on Oct. 10, 2006, in Red Oak. In 2008, Russell and Neta made their home in Norfolk, Neb. He was an avid golfer. Russell was a member of the Hargrove Bible Baptist Church at De Quincy, La. and local 286 United Steel Workers.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents.
Russell is survived by his wife: Neta S. Lewis of Norfolk, Neb.; children: Russell Lewis and wife Marie of New Brighton, Minn.; Michael Lewis of St. Paul, Minn.; Kristi Crouch and husband J.D. of Greenwood, Neb.; Vickie Mullin and husband Randy of Ettrick, Wis.; step-children: David Brown and wife Susan of Panama City, Fla.; Michael Brown and wife Laurie of Minatare, Neb. and Lynda Brown of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother: David Lewis and wife Linda of Council Bluffs; sister: Mary Jane Adams and husband Marvin of Emerson; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service was held Nov. 12 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating.
