RO vote is today
After more than 18 months of community meetings and school board discussions, Red Oak Community School District voters get their say today. They will decide whether to approve a $19.99 million bond issue.
The bonds would be used to fund additions, improvements, and furnishings at the high school, tech center, and Inman school sites.
As of noon Monday, some 219 absentee ballots had been returned to the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office. There were nine outstanding ballots.
In-person voting begins at noon today (Tuesday) and runs until 8 p.m. There is one precinct for all voters, and that’s at the Montgomery County Gold Fair Building. If you are not registered to vote, you can register at the polling place on election day with acceptable proof of identity and residence.
Unofficial results of the election will be announced later tonight, and the vote totals will be posted at redoakexpress.com as soon as they are available.
