ACCIDENTS

• On July 21, at 5:44 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a single-vehicle accident in the 2700 block of Fernwood Avenue. Nicholas Terry, 19, Red Oak, driving a 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up, was driving south on Forest Avenue in Page County, when he crested a hill and went around a curve that turns into Fernwood Avenue in Montgomery County. The Terry vehicle slid on the gravel, entered the ditch, rolled, and came to rest on its side. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $23,000. No citations were issued.

• On July 21, at 9:10 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a single-vehicle accident at 250th Street and Q Avenue. James Bruce, 66, Red Oak, driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota pick-up, was traveling west on 250th Street and approaching Q Avenue. A beige or gold mini van was stopped at the stop sign on Q Avenue, failed to see the Bruce vehicle, and pulled into its path. Bruce took evasive action and lost control of the vehicle, eventually rolling it in the south ditch. The mini van left the scene of the accident. Damage to the Bruce vehicle is estimated at $3,500. Stanton Rescue transported Bruce and a juvenile passenger to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for potential injuries.
