INCIDENTS

• On May 22, at approximately 11:04 a.m. officers with the Red Oak Police Department were called to Washington Intermediate School for a student who was reportedly out of control and assaulting school personnel. Upon investigation, a 12-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody on charges of simple assault and criminal mischief third degree. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent upon completion of a referral to Juvenile Court Services.

• On May 24, at about 6:30 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary at a construction site in the 1700 block of 200th St. Several tools were removed from the company’s trailers. Dollar amount yet to be determined.

• On May 24, at around 2:10 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an incident of arson in the 400 block of Prairie Street in Stanton. A 1979 Chevrolet pick-up owned by Todd Silva, 43, New Market, was parked in the street where an unknown person set the vehicle on fire sometime between May 17 and May 24. Damage is estimated at $3,000. The State Fire Marshall is assisting in the investigation.

• On May 26, at 6 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a theft from Parkwest Mini Storage in the 1900 block of G Ave. According to the report, a 2001 Honda 300EX Sportstrx was taken from a storage unit sometime between May 21 and May 26. Loss is estimtated at $3,500. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-434-2712 or the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 712-623-5107. You can remain anonymous, and Crime Stoppers may pay up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

ACCIDENTS

• On May 29, at 5:10 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a hit-and-run accident in Taco Bell parking lot. A 2015 Nissan Altima owned by Tiffany Stegall of Glenwood was parked in the parking lot next to a silver Chevrolet Impala. According to the report, the Impala backed out of the parking space, side-swiping the Stegall vehicle. The Impala then left the parking lot, traveling east on Senate Avenate. The driver was described as a white female with blonde hair and a large build, wearing an orange shirt. It is believed the license plate number starts with EK. The accident is under investigation.
