ARRESTS
The Red Oak Police Department and/or Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents with arrests between November 24 and December 1.
Brice Elva Reed, Red Oak, arrested on Dec. 1 for violation of probation, bond: $330.
SHERIFF’S REPORT
On Dec. 2 the sheriff’s office responded to a report of theft. The guestbook sign from the Villisca Axe Murder House was taken. The victim is offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved.
On. Dec. 2 the sheriff’s office arrested Tyler Reid Shields, 24, of Villisca on the charge of domestic abuse assault. Shields was held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond to appear before the magistrate.
On Nov. 26 the sheriff’s office arrested Shawn M. Shely, 41, of Elliott on a warrant charging him with four counts of sexual abuse. Shely had been located in Nebraska and was being housed in Douglas County Corrections until waiving extradition to Iowa to answer the charges. Shely was transported without incident to the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
RED OAK POLICE
On. Nov. 26 Hope Ann Ross reported that she left home on Nov. 25 to take Thanksgiving dinner to her place of business at Hope’s Bar at around 4 p.m. When she returned home around 9 p.m. someone(s) had broken into her residence and stole an estimated $6,750 in value.
