INCIDENTS
• The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office is investigating a burglary that occurred sometime between Aug. 14 and Aug. 18 at the Dennis Carbaugh farm in the 2600 block of D Avenue. Forced entry was made into a machine shed and numerous tools and other items were taken. Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 888-434-2712 or the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office at 712-623-5107.
ACCIDENTS
• On Aug. 16, at about 4:26, p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North 5th Street and Oak Street. Kya Torres, 27, Red Oak, driving a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, was traveling east on Oak Street when she looked away to hand something to her daughter. When she looked back, she didn’t have enough time to stop and her vehicle struck the rear end of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Felicia Taylor, 17, Red Oak. Damage to the Torres vehicle was about $2,200, while damage to the Taylor vehicle was estimated at $1,100. There were no injuries, and Torres was cited for following too closely.
• On Aug. 19, at about 4:56 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Nuckols Street and North 2nd Street. Andrew Nagunst, 17, Red Oak, driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra owned by Cynthia Nagunst, Red Oak, was stopped at the intersection facing north on Nuckols Street and a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Alexis Wingfield, 17, Red Oak and owned by Scott Wingfield, Red Oak, was traveling north on 2nd Street and had no sign. The Nagunst vehicle proceeded through the intersection without yielding the right of way and was struck by the Wingfield vehicle. Damage to the Nagunst vehicle was about $2,600, while damage to the Wingfield vehicle was estimated at $1,000. Nagunst was issued a warning for failure to obey stop sign.
