Orscheln opens new Red Oak store

REDee^OAK — Orscheln Farm and Home Supply has more than doubled the size of its local store.
The company officially opened its new $1.3 million building on Sunday,ee^Nov. 2.
The new store is located adjacent to its former building at 2400 Fourth Street.
Store manager Tom Pratt said the opening of the new building was about a year in the making.
According to Pratt, the company had been looking to expand its former building, but cost estimates were too high.
“For several years, we’ve been trying to figure out a way to add onto the other building so we could have our merchandise that needed to be inside inside,”ee^he said.
The last year when a corporate official visited, he said to just build a new store on the land the company already owned.
The new building is 22,500 square feet, more than double the 10,000 square feet of the old building.
Pratt said the additional space has allowed him to put more merchandise under a roof, increase the product line and hire four more full-time employees.
The new building now has 10 employees, he said.
In addition to the indoor space for merchandise, the new store also has a shop for tire repair, mounting and balancing, he said.
“We’ve expanded all departments and made it a more well-rounded store,” he said.
Pratt said the company will hold off until spring before hosting a grand opening event.
The new store is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“We appreciate the fact that Montgomeryee^County residents have supported us, and made this possible,” Pratt said.
