Ronald Long, 83

Ronald D. Long, 83, previously of Emerson, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Mo.
Ron was born Aug. 5, 1942 in Red Oak, the son of Clarence and Mildred Long. After graduating from Wales High School, Ron farmed the family homestead in Emerson for almost 30 years.
Ron was involved in 4-H as a youth and was later a club leader for the Garfield Wolves. He was a member of Hawthorn Methodist Church and the Red Oak Elks Lodge. Ron was awarded the Honorary Chapter Farmer award from the Red Oak FFA. After retiring from farming, Ron moved to Osage Beach, Mo., where he enjoyed anything that involved the lake and boating. Ron was a devoted father and grandfather, and loved to cook barbeque ribs for his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Mildred; brother, Dwaine Long; and granddaughter, Sammi Long.
He is survived by his partner, Susan Long of Kearney, Mo.; children, Cheri Pullman (Keith) of Excelsior, Minn.; and Rob Long (Gina) of Creston; stepchildren, Tabitha Self (Rayce) of Cameron, Mo.; Yancey Edmonds of Tulsa, Okla.; and Kevin Creswell of Lampasas, Texas; grandchildren, Sydney Smith (Alex) of Hopkins, Minn.; Keely Johnson (Mason) of Cologne, Minn.; Beau Pullman of Tucson, Ariz.; Tyler Long (Abby) of Fontanelle; and Cody Long (Kate) of Orient; step-grandchildren, Jasmine Lightner (Kenny) of Kearney, Mo.; and Justin Creswell (Breauna) of Blue Spring, Mo.; and many great-grandchildren and relatives.
A private graveside celebration of life will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.
