Mildred "Millie" Magneson, 95

Mildred “Millie” Magneson, 95, Red Oak, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, at the Red Oak Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak.
Mildred Marie “Millie” Magneson was born Aug. 31, 1927, at Milaca, Minn. Mildred was raised on a farm near Milaca, Minn., where she attended school. She worked at a bakery in Milaca before moving to Des Moines, and before too long, moved to Red Oak.
On Aug. 20, 1947, Millie was united in marriage to Clarence Donovan “CD” Magneson at Wallin, and they made their home in Red Oak. For years, Millie worked at Johnson Hotel and Spurgeon’s Department Store in the candy department.
She loved flowers and planted them all around her house. Millie enjoyed playing cards and was the happiest when all her children would gather to play with her. In her later years, she enjoyed trips to the casino as fun little getaways. Millie was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, CD Magneson on March 17, 2012; son, Darrell Magneson on March 17, 1995; grandson, Jacob Magneson; great-granddaughter, Chelsie Ringer; brothers, David Jones and Robert Jones; sisters, Ruthie Magneson, Helen Schubert, Doris Haase Ortloff and twin sister, Marie Jones; niece, Debbie Magneson; and nephew, Jeff Haase.
Mildred is survived by five children, Gerald (Patricia) Magneson of Des Moines, Bruce Magneson of Red Oak, Dwight Magneson of Red Oak, Gordon (Lisa) Magneson of Red Oak, and LaDonna (Rick) Johnson of Stanton; daughter-in-law, Shelly Bice of Woodworth; 12 grandchildren, Brook Lynn (Ryan) Stone, Parker Magneson, Grant Magneson, Cheryl Thomas, Scott Thomas, Ryan Magneson, Travis (Daylee) Magneson, Stacey (Zack) Harmon, Drew (Cathy) Magneson, Derrick (Danielle) McAdams, Eric (Kayla) Johnson and Nicole (Jason) Smith; 20 great-grandchildren, Daxton and Taylee Stone; Matthew, Christina and Ashley Ringer; Suzanne Thomas; Scott, Jr. and Sloan Thomas; Lilliana, Karisma and Dean Magneson; Liam Harmon; Duke Magneson; Aidan McAdams; Jadin Johnson; DJ Curry; Jayceon Johnson; Donavon and Millianna Johnson and Brier Smith; three great-great-grandchildren, Jade, Taina and Abraham Ringer; niece/sister, Lucille Moy of Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Stanton, and Karen Urick of Missouri; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service was held Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Red Oak.
