Lincoln “Linc” Morse, 88, Red Oak, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at his home in Red Oak.
Lincoln Bennett Morse, son of John Bennett Morse and Eleanor (Young) Morse, was born on Jan. 12, 1935, in Littleton, N.H. He attended Lisbon High School in Lisbon, N.H. and graduated with the Class of 1953. Following his graduation, Linc furthered his education, attending Panhandle State College in Goodwell, Okla., and later obtaining his master’s degree in education from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo.
On July 15, 1956, Lincoln was united in marriage to Marlena Clois Potter at the Union Center Methodist Church in Adams, Okla.
Linc began his professional career following his education as a debate coach and speech professor at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
Well known within the Red Oak community, Linc was the owner and operator of Morse Rentals. He also was a substitute teacher at Red Oak High School. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed collecting rocks using his studies as a geologist.
Linc shared his love for snow skiing with his family and encouraged them to partake in all of his adventures that came with it. When he was on ski patrol, living in Colorado, he would bring his son and daughter along with him while patrolling the expert slopes.
Preceding Linc in death were his parents.
Surviving Linc are his wife, Marlena Morse of Red Oak; son, Shawn Morse of Red Oak; daughter, Sherry Bourlon and her husband Bill of Red Oak; three grandchildren, Jessica Morse of Austin, Texas, and Brett Bourlon and Cortney Bourlon, both of Red Oak; and sister-in-law, Marian Potter of Red Oak; along with many extended relatives; and a host of friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Pastor Ricky Rohrig, Sr. will officiate. The family kindly suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, to be directed to the Christ’s Cupboard Food Pantry in Red Oak. Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in Shenandoah was entrusted with arrangements.
