KATHRYN "MARIE" BAKER, 82

Kathryn M. “Marie” Baker, 82, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Council Bluffs on Sept. 18, 2023.
She was born Jan. 29, 1941, to the late Carrol and Dorothy (Weseen) Branan in Villisca. Marie graduated from Villisca High School with the class of 1959 and then attended nurses training in Cedar Rapids. She retired from the Montgomery County Hospital after 38 years.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Baker.
 Kathryn is survived by her children, Debra (Leon) Ross and Carl (Brenda) Baker; siblings, Larry Branan, Marilyn Branan, and Gail Branan; grandchildren, Ashley (Zak) Harris and Alli Baker; step-grandchildren, Troy Ross and Jennifer Ross; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Noah; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 Graveside service is at the Arlington Cemetery Washington Township on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.  A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the First Christian Church in Red Oak.  The family will direct memorials.
