Joanne "Jo" Wegler, 93

JoAnne Vivian “Jo” Wegler, 93, Red Oak, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at the CHI Hospice House in Omaha, Neb.  
Jo was born March 24, 1933, on the Shogren family farm near Stanton, the daughter of Roland and Goldie (Shogren) Mudd.  She attended Maplehurst Country School and Stanton High School.  She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Wegler on March 30, 1949, in Stanton, and they made Red Oak their home.  
JoAnne was a familiar face to many as she worked at the Driftwood Floral, The Crest, Mode O’Day, Thos D. Murphy Co., and the Red Oak Greenhouse.  As a young girl, she was confirmed at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton and was currently a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak.  
Jerry preceded her in death on April 19, 2018, after 69 years of marriage.  Survivors include her daughters, Lyanne and Lynda; grandchildren, Joe, Chris, Nicky, Mitch, and Jarrod; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Ryan, Jamison, and Stella; brother, David Mudd and wife Sandy; and many other relatives and friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak.
