Diana Petty, 75
Diana Lyne Petty, 75, Red Oak, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center.
Diana was born Nov. 28, 1947, in Red Oak, the daughter of Bryan and Shirley (Knoke) Lewis. She was raised in Elliott and graduated from Griswold Community High School.
Diana was united in marriage to George Petty on June 25, 1965, in Elliott. They lived in many different places before settling in Red Oak in 1976. Over the years, Diana worked for Spurgeon’s, Houghton State Bank, and owned and operated Jean’s Chocolates in Red Oak. Diana and George lived in Maryville, Mo., for a couple of years before retirement and then moved to Elliott. In 2019, Diana and George moved back to Red Oak.
Diana was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star, Rainbow, Rebekah Lodge, and Elliott Business and Betterment Association. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Preceding her in death were her parents; stepfather, Walter “Buffy” Buffon; husband, George Petty; and sister-in-law, Deloris Schrier.
Survivors include her children, Lisa Bailey of Red Oak, Bill Petty and wife Lisa of Stanton, Jodi Petty of Red Oak, and Sarah Culver and husband Wade of Red Oak; grandchildren, Ashley Parker of Council Bluffs; Allison Petty of Elliott; Wyatt Bailey of Red Oak; Dakota Petty of Red Oak; Mary Kate Soe and husband Matt of Red Oak; Sierra Petty of Red Oak; Dawson Culver of Stanton; Xavier Olivio of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; Clayton Culver of Red Oak; and Cash Culver of Red Oak; great-grandchildren, Tierra Parker, Lane Bailey, and Clarke Bailey; brothers-in-law, Duane Petty and wife Diane of Atlantic, and Dale Schrier of Hill City, S.D.; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
