Brandon Wax, 39

Brandon Leroy Wax, 39, Hastings, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Neb.
Brandon was born July 26, 1983, in Red Oak, the son of John and Mary (Nyquist) Wax. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 2002 and attended Iowa Western Community College. Brandon started his working career with No Frills Grocery Store, then UPS, before starting a long career with Hy-Vee where he was nominated several times for customer service awards and was featured in a Hy-Vee commercial. Most recently, he was working in landscaping in Omaha.
Brandon was united in marriage to Stephanie Fuentes in October of 2004 in Kansas City, Mo. He was an outdoorsman who loved camping, barbecues, and animals. He was also enjoyed guns, sports, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes Fan.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Rueben and Agnes Nyquist, Larry Wax, and Joan Wax Hollibaugh; and his uncle, Michael Nyquist.
Survivors include his parents, John and Mary Wax of Emerson; brothers, Bryan Wax and wife Rachel of Dearborn, Mo.; and Brent Wax and spouse Tim Chaffins of Omaha, Neb.; nephew and niece, Gavin and River Wax of Dearborn, Mo.; his babies, Cookie, Sugar, and Shadow; close friend, Kellie Reynolds and husband Jeff of Red Oak; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Viking Lake State Park at the old restaurant with a time of lunch and fellowship to follow.
Memorials are suggested to the family or the Montgomery County Animal Alliance and Rescue.
