Annette Paul, 59

Annette Lee Paul, 59, Red Oak, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Neb.
Annette was born Jan. 1, 1963, in Red Oak, the first baby in Montgomery County that year, the daughter of Don and Anne (Hultquist) Herring. She was raised in Red Oak, graduating from Red Oak High School in 1981.
She was united in marriage to Darren Paul on May 21, 1983, in Red Oak. They lived all of their married life in Red Oak. Over the years, Annette worked for Hy-Vee, CDS for many years, and most recently, Hy-Vee again, working in the produce department.
Annette loved cooking, baking, spending time with her grandkids, camping, road trip adventures, going on walks with Jason and the dogs, going to Broadway shows with Susan, concerts, spending time on the boat fishing, playing scrabble with her mom, working in her flower garden, feeding the birds, and she was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. In a final act of kindness, Annette was able to participate in the tissue donation process and will hopefully make several people’s Christmas brighter.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother-in-law, Doug Bond.
Survivors include her husband, Darren Paul of Red Oak; daughter, Susan Niswander of Ankeny; son, Jason Paul of Red Oak; grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, and Lillian Niswander of Ankeny; sisters, Donna Roby and husband Mike of Red Oak, and Kelly Lorimor and husband Mark of Shenandoah; brothers-in-law, Jerry Paul and wife Deb of Colorado; Dave Paul and wife Mindy of Peoria, Ariz.; Dick Paul and wife Marilyn of Red Oak; Dirk Paul and wife Judy of Stanton; and Delaine Paul and Deb Lewis of Red Oak; sister-in-law, Darla Schaffer and husband Mike of Woodbury, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
