Anne Morgan Sapp, 75

Anne Morgan Sapp, 75, Gig Harbor, Wash., passed peacefully on Aug. 14, 2022, following a three-year battle with multiple myeloma. 

Anne was born in Red Oak on July 29, 1947, the daughter of Glendon and Dorothy Morgan. She grew up in Wales and Elliott, Iowa.  Anne graduated from Griswold High School in 1965.  She excelled in music, band and drama.  She was a varsity cheerleader and team captain her senior year and had also been selected homecoming queen.  She married her husband, Dennis Sapp of Red Oak, Aug.10, 1968, at the United Methodist Church in Elliott. 

Anne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education at Northwest Missouri State University majoring in English and began her lifelong passion of teaching at a large school in Florida. She spent a number of years at California Lutheran University and retired in 2002 at Gig Harbor High School. 

Preceding her in death were her mother and father; brothers, Tom and Bob Morgan; and sister, Marilyn Morgan Johnson. 

She was an advocate for social justice, a devout Christian as a member of Agnus Dei Lutheran Church, and a beloved friend to all who knew her.

Surviving family members include her husband, Dennis Sapp of Gig Harbor, Wash.; daughter, Dee Reiff and husband Jeff; son, JT Sapp and wife Lexi; three grandchildren in Washington; sister, Marjorie Eshleman and husband Roger of Lake Mills; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Smith and husband Graig Smith of Red Oak, and Shirley Morgan of Clarinda.  Numerous nieces and nephew are Iowa and Nebraska residents, along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Agnus Dei Lutheran Church at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, and live streamed at https://www.agnusdeilutheran.org.
