Tigers claim medalist spots versus Lewis Central
COUNCIL BLUFFS — The Red Oak girls’ golf team fell short of knocking off Lewis Central Thursday during a meet at the Fox Run Golf Course.
Lewis Central edged out Red Oak by 12 strokes, winning 218-230. Despite the loss, Red Oak took the medalist and runner-up spot. Shelbie Perez shot a 45 to claim the medalist, while Lauren Gilbert had a 52 to claim the runner-up. Sadie Uhlenberg had a 64, while Reilley Black shot a 69. Belle Perkins finished with a 76.
Red Oak vs. SWI
The Red Oak boys team picked up a win last Tuesday at home against SWI, while the girls lost. In the boys match-up, it was Red Oak winning 180-200. The girls lost 242-254.
Ryan Plambeck shot a 41 to claim the medalist, while Nick Carlson had a 46 to get the runner-up spot.
Nolan Black also shot a 46, while Justin Bernard finished with a 47. Ethan Hewett had 52 and Justin Bernard shot a 76.
For the girls, Perez was the runner-up with a 58. Gilbert shot a 60, while Black finished with a 65. Perkins and Uhlenberg shot a 71 and 72, respectively.
Red Oak vs. Glenwood
Both Red Oak teams came close to defeating Glenwood, but fell short last Monday. The girls lost 251-255, while the boys lost 180-190.
Perez was the runner-up medalist for the girls as she shot a 60. Gilbert was one stroke back with a 61, while Black was several more back with 66. Uhlenberg recorded a 68, while Perkins finished with a 70.
The top golfer for the boys was Ryan Plambeck, who shot a 45. Connor Johnson recorded a 46. Justin Bernard shot a 49, while Black had a 50 and Carlson a 51. Gabe Nelson meanwhile shot a 54.
Additionally, Hewett shot a 50, John Johnson shot a 52 and Christian Horn recorded a 69.
The Red Oak golf teams will be back in action Tuesday when they take on Clarinda. The girls will be home at the Red Oak Country Club, while the boys go on the road. Both meets will start at 4:30 p.m.
They’ll compete again Thursday for a triangular as the girls host Shenandoah and Atlantic, while the boys go to Shenandoah. The meets start at 4:30 p.m.
