Bible Reading Marathon draws record crowd in Red Oak

Cities across the state of Iowa participated in the annual Bible Reading Marathon July 13. Locally, the 8th annual event was held at the Montgomery County Courthouse. Attendance was up to 99 participants compared to 80 last year. Pictured above are members of the Ascension Reformed Church of Red Oak. It’s congregation read the Book of Isaiah in its entirety during the marathon. Readers also included three participants aged 96, 94, and 93, as well as college and high school age students, and some elementary students. A world-wide Bible Reading Marathon was held July 14.
