Magician/comic opens Red Oak library summer reading program Wed.
RED OAK — The sign-up period for Red Oak’s Public Library Summer Program officially started Monday, June 6.
Theme Parties will be held every week on Wednesday @ 1:30 p.m.
Themes are:
— June 8: Magician and comic Rick Eugene will put on a family show
— June 15: Scotland Yard Mystery Day
— June 22: Eskimo Day with special guest storyteller Sherry Jacobsen
— June 29: Dragon Day
— July 6: Water Party
— July 13: Jason the Juggler will be here to put on a show
Anyone can start by stopping in to sign up during the week of June 6.
Then start reading and visiting and mark where you are on your goal. Enter the drawings and come to see the performers!
The summer program is available to everyone free of charge.
The library lists the following businesses and organizations as supporters of our summer library program: Altrusa, Book & Study Club, Burger King, Eagles, Fareway, Hy-Vee, McDonald's, Montgomery County Extension/Iowa State University, K.C.S.I./K.O.A.K. Radio, Kiwanis, Pamida, Promotional Concepts, Inc., Pizza Hut, The Red Oak Chamber of Commerce, The Red Oak Express, and Subway.
All organizations and businesses are welcome to contribute to the summer program.

The Red Oak Public Library is located at 400 N. 2nd Street.
The libraries hours are: Monday & Wednesday 10a.m. - 8 p.m; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
