To the Editor:

I would like to applaud Senator Ben Sasse, R.-Neb., and 11 other Republican senators (as of this writing) who have found the courage to say they find the timing of the firing of James Comey, “troublesome.”

If President Trump is as innocent of all connections with Russia as he claims, I think he would welcome a thorough, nonpartisan investigation that could exonerate him once and for all. Rather, he seems intent on hiding his income tax returns and impeding an investigation to his ties with Russia at every turn.  All Americans, regardless of party affiliation, should push for a timely investigation into this vital question.
