Let the voters decide on the renovations

I read with interest your commentary on much needed renovations, etc., in Red Oak.

I agree with you whole heartedly. It can be solved very easily, if people are willing to sacrifice a bit. Oklahoma City faced the same issues except much more needed to be done.

The mayor, council and several others sat down and formed a plan of cost, then pushed it to the people of Oklahoma County, asking if they wanted to spend and accept a one cent sales tax to take care  of it and push it to the voters. They voted overwhelmingly yes.

Today, tourists come from everywhere. Oklahoma is no longer thought of as just cowboys and indians.

Not only does Oklahoma County pay the tax, but people like me from all over Oklahoma and other states help by paying the one cent sales tax.

It's time Red Oak became a city and stopped letting just a half dozen tell the people of Montgomery County what they can or can't do. Let the voters decide on the old jail.

That beautiful old house has been on that corner my whole life.

I can't imagine it being gone. The corner will wind up bland and boring, like the hotel plot that now has a common modern building.

Push to vote people and also the Kolterman building. If it's destroyed, how will you close the area. Modern block or just leave a hole?

Time for people to step up and save their city.

Thanks for letting me speak my mind. Let them vote and get interested in their city.
