Larry D. Baker, 77, of Anacortes, Wash.

He was born on July 17, 1931, in Villisca, the son of Carl & Viola (Friedrich) Baker.  

Larry lived in the Anacortes area in the 1940s and graduated from Anacortes High School in 1948.  After working at numerous jobs around Anacortes he started to work at Shell Oil Co. in 1955 and moved back to Anacortes for good.  

Larry and his wife lived in the Whistle Lake area and in 1968 he joined the Carpenters Union and made a career change to carpentry.  

In 1974, he started his own building contracting business and built numerous homes around the Anacortes area before retiring in 1995.  

Larry was a very loving father and husband and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola Baker; first wife, Genevieve Louise in 1990; and brother, William Baker.  Larry is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Thomas (Teresa) Baker and Kenneth A. (Cindie) Baker; daughters, Jill (Loren) McLaughlin and Kim (Don) Blankenship; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Verna) Baker; sister, Karen (Nick) Dubuque; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes.
