Tigers second, 10th at Glenwood Invitational
The Red Oak boys were second and the girls 10th at the Glenwood Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Glenwood Lake Park.
“Coach (Weston) Rolenc and I are so excited for both the boys and girls teams,” said Red Oak coach Sueann French. “I could not be happier with the start of the season and we cannot wait to see how far we can go.”
The Tigers boys, with top 10 finishers Emmanuel Grass (seventh) and Hayden Heitbrink (10th) tallied 79 points for runner up honors to team champion Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s 23 points.
The Titans’ Evan Lillie won the individual boys title with a time of 15:39.88. Teammates Marshall Arkfeld and Kevin Coots followed Lillie up with second and third place finishes, respectively.
Grass ran a 17:06.03 for seventh place. Heitbrink was 10th with a time of 17:36.40.
The Tigers’ Osiel Pedersen added a 15th place finish, Bryce Williams was 16th and Pace Chaillie was 31st.
Marlee Perrien led the Red Oak girls with a 39th place finish. Her time of 23:45 bettered her personal record time set last season by more than a minute.
Maddy Lopez was 59th, Gillian Heim 77th, Cate Horn 82nd and Jade Larsen 110th.
Walter Seipold led the East Mills boys with a 66th place finish. Cooper Stearns was 75th, Brock Ripperger 117th, Anderson Bakehouse 118th and John Wade finished 141st.
