Tigers fall on road at Shenandoah

Lynnae Green and Kalyn Scamman led five players in double-figures with 16 points each for Shenandoah in an 81-33 Hawkeye 10 Conference girls basketball win over Red Oak last Tuesday.
The Fillies jumped out to a 26-11 lead after a quarter and extended that lead to 52-23 at the half.
“They are very hard to defend with their length and when you combine it with shooting, well they are really hard to guard,” said Red Oak coach Tristin Johnson.
Despite the lopsided score and the Fillies’ hot shooting, Johnson thought his team played well.
“We scored 23 in the first half, which is more than we have in a while but we kinda ran out of gas when they kept pushing the ball all night. With our seven girls we just ran out of gas.”
Chloe Denton and Callie Bebout added 12 points each and Lexi Schebaum chipped in 10 points for Shenandoah.
Red Oak’s Ellison Johnson scored six points and had four rebounds in the loss to Shenandoah. Emily Sebeniecher’s 14 points paced Red Oak.
