Red Oak boys defeat Glenwood, Creston to go 2-0 on season

Red Oak improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-3 victory in a Hawkeye 10 Conference dual in Glenwood Thursday.
The Tigers’ Brett Erickson, Landon Gigstad, Ethan Strunk and Jackson Perdue picked up singles wins. The No. 2 singles duo of Erickson and AJ Beeson and the No. 3 pair of Kaleb Sebeniecher and Perdue notched doubles wins.
Jack Smithers and Myles Longmeyer scored singles wins for Glenwood while Brennan Anderson and Grahm Newberry won a tie-breaker to win the No. 1 singles.

The Red Oak boys traveled to Creston on April 8. The Tigers, number one in the Hawkeye 10, soundly defeated the Panthers.
In singles play, Brett Erickson, Landon Gigstad, Ethan Strunk, Kaleb Sebeniecher, Jackson Perdue, and AJ Beeson all were victorious.
The duos of Gigstad/Strunk, Erickson/Beeson, and Sebeniecher/Perdue also defeated their opponents.
According to coach Weston Rolenc, “The clean sweep of Creston is a great way to start the year and build some confidence. The highlight of the night was the Gigstad/Strunk comeback win, in an 11-9 tiebreaker.”
