Corrine Nelson, 93
Corrine Nelson, 93, of Red Oak, passed away Nov. 26, 2010, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Ruth Edna Corrine Hultman Nelson was born Jan. 3, 1917, at the family home near Nyman, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Edna Mainquist Hultman. She was the fifth child of six children. She was raised in rural Red Oak where she attended Green Park Country School. Corrine graduated from Red Oak High School in 1935. Following graduation she taught for nine years in the country schools. Corrine was united in marriage to Daniel Nelson on Dec. 25, 1943, at the Fremont Covenant Church near Essex. This union was blessed with one daughter, Nancy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Maurice, Curtis (Mamie), Marvin (Edna), and Carl (Dora), sister, Margaret; sisters-in-law Dorothy (Harry), Louise (Quentin, Bill) and the love of her life, Daniel.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Nancy Quist and husband Randy; her granddaughters, Melanie Weston and husband Rollie; Natalie Wedemeier and husband Josh; great grandchildren Gage and Libby Weston; brother-in-law Lester Pearson; other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services were held Nov. 29, 2010, at the First Covenant Church with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Nyman, Iowa.
