Arsons under investigation in Red Oak

 

The Red Oak Fire and Police Departments are investigating two separate fire incidents that occurred over the Labor Day weekend.

The first incident occurred at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4. The Red Oak Fire Department and Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of N Broadway for a reported vehicle fire. Fire and Police personnel located a 1998 GMC truck that had the interior set on fire. There is an estimated $3000 damage to that vehicle. The vehicle belongs to a Mr. Mark Ranney of Red Oak. This incident is under investigation.

The second incident was reported at around 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5. The Red Oak Police Department was dispatched to Kelly Park on a report of a bathroom stall that had been set on fire. There is an estimated $225 damage to the restroom. This is believed to have occurred after 8 a.m. on Sunday, in the afternoon or early overnight. This incident remains under investigation as well.
