RED OAK — A Junction Days that started ominously with a drenching thunderstorm ended ended perfectly with a well-attended street dance in front of a giant-flag draped stage.
VILLISCA — The Villisca Blue Jays won their third straight game on Friday night, defeating East Mills 14-2.
ESSEX — The Stanton Vikings baseball team lost to the Essex Trojans on Friday night, 13-3.
The last time Stanton played Essex/South Page, the Trojans came out on top, 23-13 on June 3.
RED OAK — Several spring sports from Red Oak High School received academic honors from the state athletic associations.
VILLISCA — The Villisca Blue Jays baseball team lost to East Mills on Friday night at home, 6-4.
BOONE — The Regional softball pairings have been released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU).
COUNCIL BLUFFS —The Red Oak Tigers softball team lost both of their tournament games at the Lynx Classic Friday night.
Red Oak lost to SC North, 10-0 and to St. Albert, 13-2.
