YMCA girls basketball camp starts this month

 The Montgomery County Family YMCA, in partnership with the City of Red Oak Park and Tree Board, will be offering a 3rd–9th grade girls basketball ‘FUN’damentals camp Saturday mornings, from April 26-May 24. The camp will take place in the YMCA’s gym.

This five-week camp is designed to review the basic fundamentals with 5th-9th grade girls. 

Nancy Zimmer, an All Western Iowa Conference and All Southwest Iowa selection during her high school basketball career at Griswold High School will be leading the camp. Drills in camp will cover the basic fundamentals in relation to dribbling, passing, rebounding and basic defensive skills.   

Session times for the camp:

—5th-6th grade meet from: 9- 10 a.m.

—7th-9th grade meet from: 10- 11 a.m. 

Houghton State Bank, Parker Hannifin and Red Oak Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep are sponsoring the camp.
