Where the Fireworks will be

With Independence Day weekend fast approaching, here's a list of fireworks activities that will take place this weekend around Southwest Iowa.

—Red Oak: July 4, which will be put on by the Red Oak Optimists and set up at Legion Park.

—Villisca: July 3 at the football field at dusk. The Giblers will perform before the show and provide sounds during the fireworks.

—Malvern: July 2 and starts at 10 p.m.

—Shenandoah: July 4 at 9:45 p.m. Fireworks display will be set up at Sportsman Park.

—Clarinda: July 3 at Eberly Field, following the Clarinda A's game.

—Atlantic: July 4 with display at Atlantic Municipal Airport. Starts after 9 p.m.

—Corning: July 3 as part of the Friends of the Lake Celebration at Lake Icaria. The fireworks will begin when it gets dark.

—Creston: July 4 at McKinley Park. Fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m. Part of the 10,000 Crestonians Celebration.
