Voting ‘yes’ on the hotel/motel tax is a no-brainer
Returning to Red Oak after college was a no brainer. The quality of life this community supports is wonderful and one to truly cherish. It is because of the friendly neighborhoods, beautiful parks and Midwest values we have so much to offer. We could keep it a secret, yet that somehow seems selfish and counterproductive. Promoting our community and drawing visitors to Red Oak opens the door on a wealth of opportunities for all residents.
A community’s growth and expansion is dependent upon economic resources. It’s imperative we reach beyond the city’s limits, tapping into new opportunities that will bring in additional revenue to our local businesses, help us expand our cultural and educational events and showcase our resources to potential new employers and residents.
All this takes money, which is why I support the hotel/motel tax and encourage the residents of Red Oak to vote “yes” along with me. The additional income the tax is estimated to generate will not only continue the great programs we currently have, it would help us enhance them and offer even more. Additionally, the increased tourism will bolster revenue at our local businesses not to mention improve our recreational facilities.
I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon and strongly believe it is our job to expand. Red Oak is a wonderful place to live and the future looks tremendous. Let’s make this happen –join me and vote “yes” Nov. 6 for the hotel/motel tax.
