Voters approve PPEL for Red Oak District
The Red Oak School District's proposed Physical Plant and Equipment Levy was passed by Red Oak voters by a wide margin.
545 voters cast their ballots at the Gold Fair Building on Tuesday. According to unofficial results from County Auditor Stephanie Burke, 391 votes in favor of the PPEL were cast, roughly 71 percent of the vote. There were 154 votes against the new PPEL.
The PPEL approved tonight will replace the district's existing PPEL in 2020. Officials with the Red Oak District have said that the PPEL approval was instrumental in their continuing plans to renovate the high school and Inman Primary, and reduce the district to two campuses.
More on the PPEL election will be available in the Feb. 14 issue.
