Volunteers needed for city boards and commissions
Residents in Red Oak and Montgomery County are being invited to serve in a public capacity.
City of Red Oak has the following volunteer positions on city-appointed boards or commissions available. If you are interested in serving, please stop by Red Oak City Hall, 601 N. 6th St. to pick up an application, or you may download an application from the city’s website: redoakiowa.com.
All interested individuals are asked to have their completed application returned to Red Oak City Hall, 601 N. 6th St. by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The application may be hand-delivered to City Hall or e-mailed to redoakcity@redoakia.city.
Positions available:
• Low Rent Housing with term expiring January, 2021.
• Planning & Zoning Commission with term expiring January, 2024.
• Historical Commission with term expiring January, 2022.
• Airport Commission with term expiring January, 2025
• Downtown Urban Renewal Board with terms expiring Dec. 31, 2021
• Red Oak Recreational & Tourism Committee with term expiring January, 2021
All applicants for above boards must be a resident of the City of Red Oak, with the exceptions of: Red Oak Downtown Urban Renewal Board, whose members may reside outside the city limits if they own a property or work at a business within the downtown area.
In addition, anyone interested in applying for the Airport Commission position may also reside out of city limits.
