Virgil E. Erickson, 90

Virgil E. Erickson, 90, of Watertown, S.D., passed away Friday, July 14, 2011.

Virgil was born to Edgar and Gertrude (Mortvedt) Erickson Dec. 28, 1920, in Elkton, S.D.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Elsie Goodrich; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include four children, Dianne Anderson, of Red Oak, Beverly Coan, of Watertown, Steven Erickson, of Sioux Falls, and Edward Erockson, of Sterling, Va.; two sisters, Gerrie Erickson, of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Merlyn Vaught, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one brother, Morrell Erickson, of Windsor, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services with military honors took place Tuesday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m., at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown, with Rev. Steven Bailey officiating. Interment was in Prairie Hills Cemetery in Bradley, S.D.
