Viqueens place fourth at Shenandoah

SHENANDOAH — The Stanton Viqueens girls track team finished fourth at the Fillie Relays in Shenandoah, Thursday.

Stanton scored 88.5 points, putting them in the top-five out of 11 teams competing.

Paige Peterson highlighted Stanton's fourth place finish with a win in the 400-meter hurdles. Peterson ran 1:11.76, finishing ahead of second place's Paige Daughton by five seconds.

The 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams also scored wins for the Viqueens.
The shuttle relay team, consisting of Peterson, Kadie and Carmen Subbert and Macy Elwood earned the final victory for Stanton, defeating Shenandoah, Essex and Mount Ayr.

Both Kadie and Carmen Subbert had second place finishes. Kadie tied for second in the high jump, along with Kaley Folkerts of Bedford.

Carmen took second in the discus with a throw of 96'1”.  Both Kadie and Carmen finished third and fourth respectively in the 100-meter hurdles.
Avery Taylor finished third in the 200-meter dash and placed fourth in the 100-meter dash. Taylor also had a sixth place result in the long jump.

Moriah Kammerer had a sixth place finish in the 800-meter run, running 2:51.52.

Stanton finished third at the Lady Panther Relays in Creston, last Monday.

Stanton had two first place finishes during the meet, including Avery Taylor in the long jump. Taylor jumped 14'10” to win outright, while Paige Peterson placed third with a jump of 14'4.5”. Taylor also had a third place finish in the 400-meter dash, a fourth place finish in the 200-meter dash and took fifth in the 100-meter dash.

The 4x800 team of Julia Pfeiffer, Hamilton, Kammerer and Snow won their relay with a time of 11:41.46.

Stanton had three second place finishers for the Relays, with two of them coming individually from Kadie Subbert.

Subbert tied for second in the high jump, with a jump of 4'8”. She took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.72 seconds. Her younger sister Carmen finished third with a time of 18.07 seconds in the hurdles.

The shuttle hurdle relay team, which included both Subbert's, took second with a time of 1:15.40.

Kimber Wagg threw 25'10.5” to claim third place in the shot put. Her sister, Shelby, finished fifth in the same event.

The Viqueens had multiple fourth place finishers individually, including Leah Bare in the 3000-meter, Kara Allen in the 800-meters, Julia Pfeiffer in the 1500 and Paige Peterson in the 400 meter hurdles.

Stanton hosted a meet on Monday, but results weren't made immediately available.

The Viqueens don't have another track meet until April 26.
